This program is a Geelong Sustainability initiative, delivered by RACV Solar and Mondo. The program is supported by local councils and community groups across the G21 region.
This is a community lead project, we’ve worked to bring together trustworthy reputable companies to deliver a range of high quality solar and battery options whilst leveraging the purchasing power of the community to provide great value for money. By participating in the Community Solar Program you’ll also be helping support local not-for-profit organisations to get solar, with one solar panel being donated for every system installed.
The Program is open to homeowners and businesses across the Greater Geelong, Surf Coast, Colac Otways and Golden Plains Shires, and Queenscliffe Borough, and supported by local council.
Many customers can save anywhere from 40% - 90% off their energy bills over a year, depending on the system they purchase. The savings from solar and storage will depend on a range of factors such as your current energy usage patterns, the size of solar system you purchase and whether you also install a battery system.
Savings from solar and battery systems can only be realised with a quality and fully operational system. It’s important to choose a trusted installer who uses quality components with long warranties and can provide assurance that they will be around to service the system long after installation.
We have a range of options available, our solar engineers can run you through the options and provide a firm quote. You can attend one of our information events for an overview of the options and range of prices.
The typical installation lead time is 6-8 weeks. Once you are ready to proceed with your quote we’ll book in your installation date, and we get started straight away by processing your Solar Victoria rebate application (if eligible) and solar ‘grid connection’ approvals.
The program will be open until the end of August 2021.
Register your interest here to get started and our team will be in touch with you to organise a quote. First our solar experts will ask you a series of questions about your energy usage (providing your electricity bill is always helpful!) and other preferences or system requirements.
You can also attend one of the upcoming information sessions to learn more about the program and all things solar and battery storage.
No, just your most recent bill is fine. There is a graph on the front page which will show your energy usage across the year to help our consultants provide you with the best advice.
Yes, there is a Federal Government rebate for solar systems and the Victorian Government has both Solar and Battery rebates available through the ‘Solar Homes’ scheme by Solar Victoria. Not everyone is eligible for the Victorian Government rebates, our solar consultants will explain how the rebates work and help you check your eligibility.
